The Bacon Ring Technique

Bacon Today reader Marc-Frederic recently shared with us his fantastic idea for making beautiful food presentations involving bacon. And no, we don’t mean slapping some cooked bacon strips on a plate. We’re talking chef-worthy presentations that would make pig lovers everywhere proud!

Marc’s idea is actually a technique you can use at home after you pick up some basic ring molds from your local kitchen store or restaurant supply. These are the metal rings often found with cooking and baking tools. (Restaurant cooks love them for keeping dishes intact such as a beef tare tare or a stacked salad.)

Sound crazy? Check out Marc’s step-by-step guide here for evidence:

We definitely love Marc’s concept for keeping scrambled eggs together inside a circle of cooked bacon. But imagine the options: A batch of freshly roasted potatoes or hash browns inside a ring of sweet, artisanal pork belly. Maybe a separate batch of pancakes cooked inside of maple-laced bacon. How cool would that be? The possibilities are as limitless as only bacon can be.

We think you’ll love the genius of the bacon ring technique. Try your own ideas at home and let us know what you come up with!

I love this and featured it on my blog. Also, the way the garnish looks like an actual tree in the picture is very cute.

  • Throughout this great scheme of things you’ll get a B- for effort and hard work. Where exactly you actually lost us was on the details. As it is said, the devil is in the details… And it couldn’t be much more correct at this point. Having said that, let me say to you just what did deliver the results. The article (parts of it) is actually incredibly convincing and that is probably why I am making an effort in order to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, whilst I can easily see the jumps in reasoning you come up with, I am not really confident of just how you seem to connect your ideas which inturn produce the conclusion. For the moment I will, no doubt subscribe to your issue however trust in the foreseeable future you actually link the dots much better.
