Inaugural weekend convention & trade show celebrates geek culture, technology, and all things bacon.
This summer, fans are invited to witness the launch of Ba-Con (pronounced “BEY-kahn”), the first ever celebration of all things technology and bacon. Ba-Con is a conference targeted to those interested in do-it-yourself(DIY) tech and internet culture. It will be held July 8 – 10, 2011, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Josh Grumble, the convention’s chairperson, says Ba-Con is “about the underlying social media outlets that bring ‘all of us geeks’ together and the celebration of those interests.” Ba-Con offers beginning and advanced fans, users, and creators alike the opportunity to learn more about everything from Tweeting to gaming, social media to DIY technology projects, and yes, even bacon. Visit the convention’s website,, for details on the event, pre-registration, and the latest Ba-Con news.

Ba-Con will feature several special guest speakers to give attendees an idea of what it is like to embrace your inner techie and “feed your geek.” The guest list includes such personalities as Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda, creators of the Chad Vader web series; J.C. Brazil, author of A Geek’s Guide to Bacon Cookery; and Dr. Robert E.Pyatt, Ph. D., geneticist and master of “weird” science.
Ba-Con is presented by Six Degrees, LLC, an Ohio-based venture.

  • I am seriously considering making the trip across several states to attend… This sounds amazing.

We’d love to have you! The hotel is full ATM, and we have a waiting list of people looking for rooms, but we are looking at some overflow options. It’s shaping up to be a great event!
