Oven Cooked Bacon
Oven cooked bacon is the easiest way to cook it with the least amount of mess and the best cooked bacon. By starting in a cool oven, the fat will render out perfectly as the oven temp slowly increases. Here’s how to cook bacon in the oven in 5 easy steps:
1. Don’t pre-heat the oven.
2. Place strips on a parchment lined baking sheet or pyrex dish. Leave 1” between strips, this allows the fat to render out slowly.
3. Put the baking tray(s) in the oven and turn oven to 350-375°F for dark-colored metal sheets, and 375°F for light-colored metal sheets.
4. Allow to cook for 14-20 minutes depending on thickness of the bacon.
5. Check after 10 minutes and flip the strips if they are over-baking. Remove when they have reached your desired level of doneness (chewy or crispy).
