With National Pancake day just around the corner, we got to thinking about how bacon is such a great compliment to the sticky sweet hot cakes we’ve loved since childhood. But one must eat this duo judiciously to ensure you don’t run out of one before the other.

Cue the bacon pancake dippers, a delicious piece of pork perfection encased in a sweet pancake blanket. These bacon pancake dippers are good to the very last bite! So easy to make and easier yet to eat – fork not required – but a small cup of syrup on the side for dipping is the proverbial icing on this cake! 1. what is it with americans and premade food?
do you know how many ingredients are in pancake batter?
its just plain silly to buy it…

    • We serve made-from-scratch Brown Sugar and Oatmeal Pancakes, using a 1987 Southern Living recipe. There is nothing mysterious in them. We do not, however, think buttermilk makes a pancake better!! πŸ™‚ I NEVER use Bisquik (bleh). Now, the idea of pouring pancake batter OVER the bacon on the griddle…. that could be the start of a new love affair. You can taste our pancakes at Prospect Hill B&B Inn in Mountain City, TN. PS most people use prepared bacon; I only know one person with his own hog!!

  2. @Halvard- what about the UK, not just the mix but pre-BAKED pancakes? It’s all over the world my friend, so don’t just pick on my neighbours to the south! πŸ˜‰

  3. Cabadians buy pancake mix aswell!!! Thats all I see coming through my tills at work! Sorry were not all martha frickin stewart Halvard!

  4. This is genius!!! And by the way: You don’t have to be “martha frickin stewart” to make pancakes batter… πŸ˜‰

  5. I have done this for some time…in fact did this back in the late 80s. though I broke my bacon up so it could be spread through the pancake.
