Bacon Cheese Spread – The Treat That Might Have Been

March 1, 2010 9:41 pm Published by 2 Comments

I was helping my grandfather clean out his refrigerator this weekend. Out with the old, in with the new.

We tossed out the expired salad dressings, the old mustard, and some questionable jams & jellies.

Then I spotted something that had one of the world’s most wonderful words emblazoned upon it’s label — BACON.

Under “BACON” it said “Cheese Snack Spread”. I was intrigued. Unfortunately, this curious treat was well past it’s expiration date so I may never know if the bacon flavor was any good at all.

Has anyone tried this? Inquiring minds want to know.

Actually, in the Bacon Cookbook (Villas) there’s a pretty tasty recipe for bacon cheese spread you can make that might be worth a look.

i haven’t even seen that cheese spread since the late 90’s or early 00’s, but my god was it delicious… you should totally try to find some, i’ve been inspired to go look later today, instead of my between classes nap, i will be on a bacon cheese spread finding mission.
