What happens when a minor league baseball team gains Krispy Kreme as a sponsor, and is challenged by the legendary donut company to create a new menu item featuring their products? The Krispy Kreme Donut Dog is what happens! Sweet and savory fans: brace yourselves. This is no ordinary baseball concession. This yet-to-be-named beast feast consists of a Krispy Kreme glazed donut BUN, a hot dog, a ton of crispy bacon and raspberry jelly.
So where can you sample one of these amazing dogs? The Wilmington Blue Rocks, a minor league affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, are bringing it to their fans this season. You’ll have to wait and see how to order it, because it currently has no name. If you want a chance to name this behemoth, you can “pitch” your idea on their website. The winner will get a ticket for opening and night and a chance to throw out the first pitch!
For those of us who don’t live anywhere near Kansas City, we are hoping that Krispy Kreme will start selling the donut bun in their stores. Just think of all the ingenious things you could make with it!
