Peanut Butter and Bacon Banana Hot Dogs
Have you ever heard someone say that they don’t like hot dogs? I don’t understand those people. That’s like saying you don’t like bologna or spam. Crazy! For that person you know doesn’t like hot dogs, consider this “hot dog” recipe. As is, this recipe makes a delicious lunch or after-school snack for the kiddoes. Or you could drizzle it with chocolate syrup and suddenly it’s dessert.
This recipe is easily customizable by changing the bun or with the addition of other spreads. Add some jelly? Why not. How about some Nutella? Sounds good to me! This recipe was developed by the Southern Peanut Growers Association and we’re thankful to the creative minds that thought this one up and shared it with us. Here’s the recipe.
1/4 cup crisp bacon pieces
1 whole wheat hot dog bun, toasted
1 slightly ripe banana, peeled
1/4 cup chunky peanut butter
1. Toast bun, and spread peanut butter on one side.
2. Sprinkle with the crisp bacon pieces.
3. Add banana, close bun and serve.
