Chex Mix is a popular addition to a holiday menu. It’s easy to whip up and your guests will love munching on it as they wait patiently for the turkey goodness. Despite the name of this recipe, this Chex Mix has a light flavor that isn’t overly sweet.
6 cups Corn Chex® cereal
1 cup mini twist pretzels (you can break then up with you want)
1 cup popped popcorn
1 cup chow mein noodles
1 cup chopped Maple bacon, cooked
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter
1/4 cup bacon grease
3 Tablespoons maple syrup
1.5 teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Preheat oven to 250 °F.
2. In large microwavable bowl, mix cereal, pretzels, popcorn, and noodles; set aside. In small bowl, stir together warm bacon grease, melted butter, brown sugar, and seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
3. Pour mix into a large roasting pan or on several baking sheets. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.
