New York’s Bacon-Palooza was a huge success and a lot of fun! It was 3 full days of eating, cooking, sharing, discussing, debating and enjoying bacon, bacon and more bacon.
Dedicated Baconistas from all around the tri-state area, as well as the entire country and planet, gathered to help raise money for “Autism,” while eagerly, energetically and ever so enthusiastically eating, discussing, learning, displaying, singing, dancing, debating, playing, lecturing and generally enjoying … bacon.
Now for those of you who were somewhat slightly concerned that the stereotypical, uber-urbanite” “New York City” populace out on the sophisticated island of Manhattan just wouldn’t fully grasp what truly goes into a real, serious, down-home “BaConference,” … well, you can put your worries away, because this heck of a Hog Heaven Hootenanny was a hellaciously hot happening, especially because it took place in the very Biggest and “Cityest” part of the Big City!
The event was put on by “JJO Productions, who donated all proceeds above and beyond the event’s expenses, directly to providing help, education and therapy to autistic children who so desperately need the life changing care and assistance.
Billed as a “Multimedia Bacon Extravaganza – featuring BACON, the best meat to eat!” the event was 3 full days packed with popular pork passionate events as “Gourmet Bacon Tasting,” featuring just about every single type of bacon you have ever read, heard or dreamed of … plus a bunch that eclectically adventuresome bacon flavors and styles that you never would have ever imagined in a million years.
Plus tons of other bacon oriented items presented throughout the assembly, and of course there has to be some “Bacon eating Contests,” or it simply wouldn’t be a Bacon-palooza, now would it?
According to John Ordover, the original creator of the event: Bacon-palooza was created to bring people together from different walks of life! My son is autistic, and I’m always looking for ways to raise money to help autistic children. I chose bacon not only because ‘everything is better with bacon’ but because bacon crosses over multiple interest groups and social worlds.”
Some of the event sponsors included: Bacon-Flavored Lip Balm, Bacon Flavored Mmmvelopes, Bacon Hot Sauce, Bacon Jam, Baconnaise, BaconPOP, Bacon Ranch, Bacon Salt, Bakon Vodka, Batter Blaster, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and Torani Bacon Syrup.
