Sometimes great food happens as the result of great love. From the moment you walk into Salvatore Cucina Italiana in Mission Viejo, CA you know this is the case.
Restaurateur Salvatore S. D’Abbusco left his home in Napes, Italy at the age of 24 and moved to the United States to marry his Philadelphia-born sweetheart whom he met while working for a cruise ship company. Now, for nearly 20 years the D’Abbusco family has operated the quaint little restaurant tucked into a professional building you might not even notice if you drove by in broad daylight.
One of the best things about Salvatore’s place is that no matter which entree you order, you always get a complete meal that includes:
2) HOMEMADE ITALIAN SPECIALTY SOUP
3) HOUSE SALAD
4) SIDE OF PASTA (with all the non pasta dishes)
7) YOUR CHOICE OF 11 DESSERTS
It’s not often that you find a restaurant that gives you a multi-course meal for a reasonable price, but Savatore’s is the exception to the rule. The wait staff brings out a steady stream of tasty food & drink throughout your dining experience so you’re never left wanting (except maybe for more time in the day to enjoy all the deliciousness).
On my last visit I spied some Italian bacon (pancetta) infused goodness in the form of Penne Funghi. A great mushroom pasta with some tasty Italian bacon? I was in heaven. The meal was fantastic and earns a Smaste™ rating of 42.981.
If you’re ever in the neighborhood, stop by and treat yourself to some great Italian home cooking (and a bit of bacon).
