There’s a magical thing that happens at Costco on the weekends – They pass out free food. I think they do it as a social experiment to see how many people they can get to swarm around an old lady with a bunch of crumb-sized samples of crap food that they really shouldn’t be eating in the first place. But I like the crap food, too, so who am I to complain.
Today I went to buy my quarterly supply of 128 rolls of toilet paper and 6 pounds of macadamia nuts when I saw one of the tasting ladies was handing out scissor-cut samples of turkey bacon. I had never tasted turkey bacon, so I thought I’d give it a whirl. It wasn’t all that bad. Mostly, it tasted like salty turkey – not so much like bacon. Nothing you couldn’t achieve yourself with a slice of turkey and a cylinder of Morton’s.
Check out the gallery of the whole tasting experience.
