Even when they’re rocking hard on the road, the boys of Metallica still appreciate the value of a home cooked meal. More specifically, the guys dig bacon.

How do we know this? Well, we got a tip (thanks Dan) that we should check out Metallica’s catering rider over at The Smoking Gun web site. Turns out that even though they have at least “six strict vegetarians on the crew”, the band makes sure that no less than three times during the 3-page catering section of the document the following phrase appears in all capital letters:

“BACON VERY IMPORTANT THAT BACON BE AVAILABLE AT EVERY MEAL AND DURING DAY”

That’s right, the hardest of hard rockers get their metal madness from our favorite meat – bacon. Don’t believe us? Read the catering rider for yourself. Now, if they’d only write a song about bacon like Aerosmith almost did…
