John Walkenbach Says “Bacon is Dead”

Please forgive the highly quoted post. We were so shocked to read about the death of bacon that we had to relay the message in it’s entirety.

John Walkenbach writes that:
Sharon Anderson writes: Bacon, You’re Dead to Me.

“I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve had it with bacon. Let’s be clear: I love bacon as much as the next person. I just can’t understand the mass bacon worship cropping up in every restaurant, bar, and blog. I love waking up to the smell of it, but (sorry Denise) I don’t need an alarm clock to cook it at my bedside. I love eating it next to a mound of warm, syrupy French toast, but I’m not interested in turning my breakfast into a miniature, perishable Stonehenge.

The universe, or at least the culinary one, is obsessed with bacon lately. I may not be any kind of authority in the food world, but I am going to go out on a limb here and declare (or maybe just plead) that bacon is over.”

Says Walkenbach, “I agree. This is the final Bacon post at the J-Walk Blog.”

Dear Bacon Today readers, please rest assured that bacon is not dead and will continue to thrive here at Bacon Today and the many other bacon sanctuaries on the internet (and of course on our dinner tables).

Let your voices be heard – declare your love of bacon!!!

Bacon will never die. You should show your support for bacon with a ribbon http://www.cafepress.com/thebaconribbon (oh, and it also promotes awareness of obesity).

I am sorry but who is John Walkenbach?
