Creative Bacon Breakfast Help Needed

Okay, BT Readers, Eugenia P. needs our help and needs it fast. Here’s the email she wrote…

Hey there – I work at a pretty well known company in WA and have been tasked to come up with an ingenious breakfast event that does not resemble the standard boring breakfast display of bagels, fruit, and muffins. I had an ephifany moment when I thought “who doesn’t love bacon?” – to which my co-workers response was “even vegeterians love bacon” :)

Anyways, I would love to start a quick dialogue with someone at Bacon Today about creative ideas (including what to serve) for this event. Any takers to help me?

Quick summary:
Event will take place on the first floor atrium of a 4 story bldg from about 8am – 10am. Purpose is to get people interested in stopping by our table to chat with us about ‘our services’ we are presenting. The majority of employees in this particular bldg are professional males in their late 20′s to mid 40′s. Attendance is TBD – we most likely can anticipate 100-200 people during the course of the 2 hours and our budget would be no more than $700.

Thanks for your time!

For our money, there’s nothing better than the bacone, which we were first introduced to during Baconcamp 2009 San Francisco…

The Bacone is basically a bacon cone stuffed with eggs, biscuit gravy, hash browns and topped with a tasty buttermilk biscuit.

But Eugenia needs your help, too. Leave a comment below with your most creative bacon breakfast idea.

I just had some bacon-wrapped dates on a toothpick with some tasty sauce at The Med in Boulder, CO. Definitely the tastiest morsel I’ve had in a long time. And ideal for luring folks in for a quick chat.

Cheesy biscuits with crumbled bacon sprinkled in the batter? Bacon wrapped sausage links on a stick? Avacado-Deviled eggs topped with bacon? Bacon wrapped shrimp is a hit no matter the time of day.

Wrap a pancake around that bacon-sausage stick! Bacon, egg & cheese biscuits are always good.

One of my favorite bacon creations was what I called the corntastic porndog (because its better than sex). I partially cooked some bacon, making sure it was still floppy. The floppy bacon gets wrapped around the wiener of your choice, which for your purposes could be a breakfast sausage link. You may need to secure it with toothpicks. You skewer the wiener and dip it into corn batter or pancake batter, to make it more breakfasty. I used a thick corn batter with diced jalapenos, mmm… Then deep fry it. Mmmmmm….

What could be better than meat on a stick, wrapped in bacon, dipped in goop and deep fried? Maybe sex, but it had better be really good sex.

My advice would be to avoid using those crappy toaster sized Fry-Daddy’s as the small volume of oil really won’t maintain it’s heat for anything but the smallest amounts of food. At least a 12qt pot filled no more than 2/3 of capacity and you should be able to drop several at a time. Get the oil to about 350-400F for corn batter, or maybe 325-350F for pancake batter. I deep fry pizza at 350F. Mmmm…

Oh. My. Goodness. I can’t believe this exists. I LOVE breakfast and could really eat it all the time. And this dish looks SO heavenly! Sadly though I shouldn’t eat things like this… I might have to nominate it for this site – http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/ :-)
