As International Bacon Day approaches, you have to get all of your bacon plans in order. Get out the games, the drinks, the decorations, and start planning how you’re going to invite people. Are you going to do it the classical way with paper invitations? Or will you be creating a Facebook event invite a few days before? Email or text message? Phone call?

Well, it doesn’t matter how you get the message across, you just better get it out there! And don’t forget to celebrate International Bacon Day in style. But most importantly, you better have your bacon dishes!

We bring you some delicious bacon food ideas for your party that are bacon wrapped while a couple others have bacon incorporated into them. We titled this piece “Bacon Wrapped” because it sounds so much better than, “Here Are Some Dishes That Are Bacon Wrapped and Others That Are Not.” That title sounds completely lame. And bacon isn’t lame. So don’t complain as you’re reading this that not everything is bacon-wrapped. But if you really want to bacon wrap everything, that’s your prerogative! But please, send us pictures afterward. Because if you don’t we won’t believe that you actually bacon wrapped that watermelon.

Cajun Bacon Smashed Potatoes

Yes, we know the last two on the list are not wrapped but they’re still awesome. So awesome that we have provided you with recipes for them. They’re below. Underneath this sentence. Not the actual food obviously, but the instructions on what you need to get and how to make them. So read on.

Cajun Bacon Smashed Potatoes

Ingredients:
6 slices Bourbon Street Cajun Bacon
2 tbsp reserved bacon fat
4 pounds russet potatoes, quartered. Do not peel.
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
Salt & Pepper to taste

Preparation:
Fry up the Cajun Bacon in large skillet over medium-low heat until crisp.
Transfer to paper towels and drain. Crumble bacon and set aside. Reserve 2
tablespoons bacon fat.
Cook potatoes in large pot of boiling salted water until tender. Drain well. Return
potatoes to pot; mash. Add milk, butter and reserved bacon fat and mash again.
Add chives, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with bacon and serve.

Stuffed Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:
8 slices of Bread
12 slices of Baby Bubba’s Apple Cinnamon Bacon
2 Pink Lady Apples
8 oz. Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Cook bacon slices to desired doneness. While bacon is cooking, slice apple into quarters then remove core. Slice apples into 1/8 inch thickness and set aside. Slice cheese into 1/8 inch slices and set aside.

Preparation:
Heat a large skillet on medium heat and spray with a nonstick cooking spray. Place one slice of bread in the skillet and begin layering with 2 ounces of cheese, then slices from ½ of an apple, and 3 whole slices of cooked bacon. Top with a second slice of bread.
Carefully flip the sandwich when the first side has developed a golden brown crust. Remove sandwich from skillet when second side is also golden brown.
