As my personal search for the perfect bacon cupcake recipe continues, I am excited that I keep finding other bacon lovers who have already integrated the two savory treats.
The folks over at Tee and Cakes in Boulder, Colorado have dedicated themselves to makin’ bacon at least once a week. Every Saturday they whip up a batch of Chocolate Bacon cupcakes and unleash them on a world that they understand deserves many more bacon desserts than it already has.
Bake-on, Tee and Cakes. We salute you.

for the record…. bacon wrapped chocolate cake bits (no icing please) are the absolute best food on earth or elsewhere.
I live in San Diego and a chocolate shop here called Eclipse makes chocolate-bacon cupcakes. I was excited to try them out, but was very disappointed. It wasn’t the integration of bacon that disappointed (they did a dulce-de-leche type filling with crispy bacon pieces in the middle), but rather the cake aspect. The cake was very dry (maybe because the salty bacon pulled out the moisture?) and hardly palatable. I’m all for integrating bacon into just about everything. I even made some chocolate covered bacon treats and brought them to work. I’ll be keeping an eye out to see if you master the bacon-cupcake.
