If you have to ask “why bacon?” then we’re glad you’re here. Bacon Today was founded on the simple principal that a world of bacony goodness exists out there for all to discover and enjoy. Here’s what we believe:
- The most versatile meat on the planet deserves some respect.
- Breakfast is not the only meal for bacon.
- Fashion, Art, Music…all industries seriously devoid of bacon.
- Bacon is a treat for all the senses.
- Frozen bacon should not be used as a weapon (although it happens).
- As some folks have said — it’s the candy of meats!

What is your favorite type of bacon?
Traditional American strip bacon. Hickory smoked is okay, too.
How do you like your bacon cooked?
Extra crispy. Not burnt – just really crispy.
What is your earliest bacon memory?
I don’t remember the bacon so much as I remember pouring the grease out of the pan (always with adult supervision, of course!) That hot sizzle when it hits the fat jar is worth the cooking of the bacon in and of itself – even if you’re not going to eat it. But then, seriously, who am I kidding? The bacon is always eaten.
What is your favorite food to accompany bacon?
I’m a big Sunday morning bacon fan. I like my bacon with eggs over medium hard. Melon is also a great bacon companion. Ripe cantaloupe is just sweet enough to bring out the salty edge that makes bacon so great.
